Grazie per la segnalazione!
Ma avevo già verificato quel firmware all'epoca della data di uscita: si tratta di una Beta infatti ha qualche problema di visualizzazione nell'interfaccia di configurazione e non è presente l'Italiano come lingua.
Quindi avevo deciso di lasciare consigliata l'ultima versione DIR-880L A1 1.02 build 13_ebbe 20141111 con nota edizione che è presente sull'FTP Europa!

Dall'analisi dell'FTP con le ultime Beta DD-WRT di quest'anno che sta continuando a sviluppare il tedesco BrainSlayer (ftp://ftp.dd-wrt.com/betas/2015/) sembra che a partire dalla versione 02-22-2015-r26332 ci sia pure una edizione per il DIR-880L (ftp://ftp.dd-wrt.com/betas/2015/02-22-2015-r26332/dlink-dir880l/)!

Ma dal firmware D-Link DIR-880L A1 1.03 build 02_f1je 20150119 non è possibile disabilitare la funzione WPS.

D-Link DIR-880L – Features
In hopping aboard the AC1900 bandwagon the 880L plays some familiar cards: a full fat 1300Mbit 802.11ac implementation with 3x3 antenna array and bolstered 600Mbit 802.11n which leads to the enlarged 'AC1900' figure.
How the latter figure is achieved is by 'Turbo QAM', a proprietary technology from Broadcom used to boost 802.11n on the ageing 2.4GHz band. The snag is it requires a Turbo QAM compatible wireless receiver to reap the benefits on this [...]. The good news is with the wealth of AC1900 routers appearing many more Turbo QAM receivers are in the works.
But Turbo QAM isn't the 880L's only trick. Its three 5dBi dual-band dipole antennas are significantly larger than anything we've seen on any rival router (which usually stick to 3Bi) and they are backed by SmartBeam compliance (http://www.trustedreviews.com/opinions/802-11ac-vs-802-11n-what-s-the-difference).

buonasera, ho acquistato da poco questo router, e volevo chiedere alcune delucidazioni al riguardo:
- Posso montare una delle antenne al piano inferiore della mia abitazione, in quanto il segnale Wi-Fi non mi copre tutto il piano, collegata con un cavo di qualche metro? Se si, quale delle 3 oppure é indifferente.
- Perché non mi rileva gli aggiornamenti di fatto elencati su questo forum io sono fermo alla 1.02 ma non mi rileva i successivi. Posso aggiornarli in manuale. Il mio hardware é A1
- alla porta wan é collegato un Hag FASTWEB. Mi conviene ripetere le porte forwardate sul router, oppure aprirle tutte sull'hag e forwardarte solo sul router.
Mi sono reso conto che sull'hag non si entra, presumo che sia bloccato. É un Pirelli.

ho installato l'ultimo firmware 1.05 b1 fino a ieri sera tutto ok, vista la tua segnalazione di un nuovo aggiornamento, ieri sera ho installato la versione 1.05 b2.
Stamattina, assenza internet, assenza rete, Ho spento il router, riacceso; tutto ok! Penso sarà stato un caso!
Intorno alle 11, mio figlio mi chiama al cellulare, Non c'è internet, non c'è rete; IO: spegni e riaccendi il router, spegni e riaccendi l'Hag di Fastweb, ad operazione conclusa, tutto OK!
Ero tanto preso da problematiche d'ufficio, che non mi sono soffermato più di tanto, tempo 5 minuti, mi richiama mio figlio: Papi idem come prima,. ho provato a spegnere e accendere il router, rimane accesa sempre la spia rossa e non va avanti!
IO: collega il portatile all'hag con un cavo ethernet e vai avanti; torno stasera e controllo.
Penso. mi sa che l'ultimo firmware è baggato, il router dopo un pò si inchioda.
Rientro a casa, dopo una serie di accendi e spegni, riesce a partire, subito flasho il firmware precedente, ma il problema rimane. lo usi un pò e poi inchidamenti continui e impossibilità di avviare il router. si inchioda con la spia rossa accesa e non si avvia.
Alla fine si avvia ... salvo la configurazione, lo impacchetto e rimonto il vecchio netgear wnr3500.
Domani lo consegnerò per la sostituzione.
Sfortuna, oppure i router di oggi non sono più come quelli di una volta?? troppa plastica!!
Ero indeciso fra il D-link DIR-880L e l'ASUS RT-AC68U.

I nuovi router e modem-router (di tutte le marche nessuno escluso!) in generale sono "più chiusi" dall'esterno rispetto ai modelli precedenti per non permettere ai nuovi malware che sono usciti in questi ultimi due anni di prendere in gestione la connessione casalinga. Tutte le nuove problematiche che abbiamo riscontrato qui sul forum sono quasi sempre riconducibili a questo fattore.
Nel tuo caso bisogna per forza valutare con delle prove perché hai pure Fastweb (se hai l'HAG dovresti avere la fibra) e a distanza non è mai facile individuare il problema in poco tempo.

Sembra avere problemi di connessione PPPoE col modem in bridge: bisogna riavviare per farlo connettere.
Non riesce a leggere i dati del server NTP D-Link o impostato manualmente.

ho questo router da un mesetto, ho installato l'ultimo fw 1.08
Dopo circa 5/6 giorni di funzionamento regolare smette di essere raggiungibile da app e da pc con http://192.168.0.1
spegnendo accendendo torna a posto.
Qualche suggerimento? (già resettato, ricaricato fw)

Sono in contatto con l'assistenza Dlink, mi hanno scritto che chiedono l'autorizzazione alla sostituzione...
Hai per caso la revisione hardware A2?
Per loro è più facile la sostituzione. Però passa un mese fra invio e ricevimento e se il problema si ripresentare sono cavoli amari.
Anche sul mio ho avuto una cosa del genere: in particolare se lasciato acceso tutta una notte (ma con nessun client collegato) la mattina successiva non era raggiungibile né da PC né da Android. Poi ho trovato la giusta combinazione di opzioni. Quella in particolare dovrebbe ovviare a semi-incompatibilità del genere. Poi abbassiamo al minimo il periodo di rinnovo così se ci sono eventuali problemi si riscontrano subito senza aspettare 7 giorni (10080 minuti).
Magari controlliamo questa cosa insieme prima di spedirlo.

Ma cosa significa il periodo di rinnovo (credo tu ti riferisca al tempo DHCP)? ogni 60 minuti si riconnette ai dispositivi? (scusa la mia ignoranza)
Ho comprato questo router perchè il vecchio DIR-868L dopo qualche ora di inutilizzo perdeva il collegamento con il mio provider... (non era più in garanzia) Se dovessi restituire questo nuovo cosa uso?

Si è più o meno quello il funzionamento: i dispositivi che hanno IP assegnato automaticamente poco prima dello scadere comunicano al router il rinnovo dell'IP in uso; senza quindi disconnettersi.
Che modem usi col DIR-880L? Lo stesso che usavi col DIR-868L? Se ti va nella discussione specifica del DIR-868L possiamo vedere di capire cosa succedeva.

In caso negativo accendilo col tastino Reset premuto e controlla se all'indirizo IP preimpostato 192.168.0.1 è accessibile la modalità di recupero (recovery) come quella nell'immagine di seguito:

l'ho imballato e domani spedisco x la sostituzione. Vediamo quando mi arriverà quello nuovo che problemi mi darà. Ora installato il vecchio 868... mi stanno esaurendo!
Bastavano 5 minuti di orologio per fare quel paio di prove che ti abbiamo consigliato. Capiamo la frustrazione ma perdere la pazienza non porta mai da nessuna parte. Speriamo non si ripresenti il problema col dispositivo sostitutivo.

Ciao, ti ringrazio per l'aiuto, ma ho preferito evitare di resettarlo in modo che SE MAI LO GUARDERANNO si renderanno conto dei problemi che ha, che secondo il mio modesto parere sono riconducibili a problemi software.
Avevo provato a svuotare la cache del browser senza risultato e anche effettuare questa procedura suggeritami dall'assistenza per raggiungere il router:

ovviamente senza risultato, quindi l'ho spento ed imballato.
La pazienza la perdo facilmente ma io al router una volta settato non ci voglio pensare più... non è che devo accudirlo quotidianamente!!!

Bene, inizia il film:
installo, imposto partendo da FW1.05, aggiorno al 1.08 sembra tutto ok... ma al riavvio le porte ethernet non permettono di navigare in internet (con il cavo arrivo cmq al router)
downgrade alla 1.07, rimane la luce rossa della connessione nonostante ci sia linea
resetto, sembra tutto ok tranne per il fatto che non si riesce a registrarsi su Mydlink (errore unable to connet to mydlink)
resetto installo la 1.05 permane il problema dell'impossibilità di registrarsi a mydlink
rifaccio il giro... 1.05--> 1.07 --> 1.08 per il momento sembra andare.
In tutto l'avrò resettato 5 volte... sono consapevole di non essere un guru dell'informatica... però di una cosa sono convinto.. che il software di questo router E' VERGOGNOSO. E se non hanno rilasciato nuovi aggiornamenti da un anno mi fa presupporre che ne hanno venduti pochi. Penso di buttarlo nell'cesso. Bella fregatura, grazie dlink!
Presumibilmente dovrebbe trattarsi di una revisione A2.
Per il mydlink occorre sempre l'ultima versione firmware disponibile.
È prevista l'uscita di un firmware correttivo della vulnerabilità KRACK (https://www.dlink-forum.it/index.php?topic=3292.msg41858#msg41858).
Guarda io ne ho uno sin da quando è uscito, quindi da 3 anni, in funzione 24/7. Mai dato un problema. Non ho avuto bisogno nemmeno di installargli il DD-WRT.

Poco prima del 5° anno di vita (nel 2019, considerando la data di edizione del 1° aggiornamento firmware del 2014), questo prodotto è stato declassato a Obsoleto sulla pagina ufficiale del sito. Ma è ancora in vendita su Amazon.it a prezzo interessante. Quest'anno ci sono stati ulteriori aggiornamenti firmware, anche se tutti relativi a correzioni di sicurezza.
Decisamente uno dei prodotti più longevi e meglio riusciti del marchio in questa categoria di prodotti tanto è vero che nei dispositivi successivi sostitutivi non è che si siano poi riscontrate performance migliori nonostante l'aumento di antenne peso dimensioni e consumo.
Il fatto poi che sia disponibile il firmware alternativo DD-WRT non è cosa da poco tanto è vero che se ne sono interessati anche i nostri corrispettivi americani (http://forums.dlink.com/index.php?topic=72749.0) (che già risultano restii ad usare firmware del marchio europei rispetto a quelli nordamericani e canadesi, figuriamoci poi quelli alternativi), riprendendo le informazioni dal sito di supporto ufficiale tedesco in lingua inglese (https://forum.dd-wrt.com/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?p=1106200) e documentando che il problema di stallo col DIR-880L pare sia stato risolto dai rilasci di quest'anno 2018 a partire dalla ricompilazione r34311 del DD-WRT.
