Il DSL-2780 dovrebbe essere un rivitisazioen del DSL-2740R con un ridisegno del contenitore plastico del DSL-2740R ideato per il posizionamento sia verticale che in orizzontale.

Ho cercato di entrare nella nostra unità sia web interface che telnet (user=admin/password=admin) ma non le accetta.
Salve ragazzi ho un modem dlink 2740 r adesso ho ricevuto il nuovo un dlink dsl 2780. Domanda se installo il nuovo modem con relativi dati e poi desidero tornare a quello vecchio dati e password rimangono invariate o le perdo? Tecnicamente potrei avere problemi? Grazie in anticipo per le risposte

Il DSL2780 è un proddotto UK (TalkTalk) e non lo consiglio.

Sei sicuro che il DSL-2740R sia una revisione hardware B1? Controlla sulla targhetta adesiva sul fondo del dispositivo.
Sicuro che si tratti di un DSL-2780? Ha la scritta "TalkTalk" come nell'immagine? Come te lo sei procurato?

Riepilogo ed espongo il problema
Il vecchio modem e' un dlink dsl-2740r a1 firmware v.1.14
volendo utilizzare il servizio indoona del numero nazionale vivendo in uk ho avuto difficolta' a disabilitare la funzione ALG non presente in questo Firmware, motivo per cui ho ordinato un nuovo router Dlink dsl 2780 da talktalk con versione hardware A2 e firmware v2.02t
La domanda essenziale e': con il nuovo modem posso accedere alla modifica dei parametri Alg ed eventualmente se non mi dovesse piacere o non funzionare (bene come quello vecchio, dico bene perche' lo voglio sostituire solo per il problema sovraesposto) ritornare a quello vecchio senza perdere le vecchie impostazioni (dati, password)o avere problemi di
conflitto

Una premessa: è importante postare nei posti giusti.
Tu avevi un DSL-2740R rev. A1. Questo è il thread del DSL-2740R B1. Sono due prodotti diversi.
MA la tau richiesta non è relativa al DSL-2740R (rev. A1 o B1) a relativa al DSL-2780.

Postare nel thread di un modem una richiesta ad un modem con revisione hardware diversa, essendo il prodotto e il firmware diversi è assolutamente inutile.
ma la domanda di base era se cambiando per un nuovo router perdevo user e password di quello vecchio qualora volessi tornare indietro e se vi fossero problemi di conflitto. Per avere una risposta dove devo postare in una sezione generica?
Dipende da che user e password.
User e password di collegamento ADSL sono stabiliti dall'operatore e rimangono sempre le stesse
SSID (nome rete Wifi) e password di accesso alla rete Wifi le stabilisci tu.
Quindi in base al modem che hai collegato tu sai quali sono SSID e password della rete Wifi.
Se le imposti idnetiche non dovrebebro esserci problemi a usare il modem a o il modem B.

Ho visto che anche in questo modem non e' presente la funzione ALG, che mi serve per poter utilizzare i servizi VoIp sul mio Pc. Sapete dove posso trovarla o se addirittura esiste una funzione simile ma con un nome diverso su cui poter intervenire? Grazie in anticipo.

Quali sono le variazioni (pro/contro) del firmware TalkTalk rispetto alle versioni Dlink standard?
Conviene se non è già stato fatto indicare eventuali incompatibilità e blocchi verso futuri aggiornamenti/downgrade.

Dovrebbero, visto che il modello non è pubblicato sull'assistenza Taiwan significa che non è distribuzione D-Link ma solo su progetto TT quindi è tutto TT.
Il DSL-2780 è il primo modello D-Link distribuito in esclusiva ad un provider, non per niente TalkTalk è davvero grosso ed importante. Se controlli sul loro forum hanno anche una forte e seria campagna di test presso i clienti.

I have this modem from UK's TalkTalk ISP and now I'm trying to use it with a different broadband provider. My username with my broadband provider is my phone number. When I try that I got a message error saying that the user name must be under the form of "username@domain". In other word it must be something like "something@TalkTalk.co.uk" or "something@someDomain.com".
Is there a way to use a username that doesn't look like an email address?

I have already tried TalkTalk's firmware v1.12, v1.13, v2.02t and v2.03t.
Also, I tried to install Conceptronic C300BRS4A firmware. But that didn't work. After rebooting the modem, it display a white page asking me to re-install the firmware.
Also, I tried to install the firmware for the D-Link "DSL-2740R" modem but it didn't want to install. I also tried the firmware for the D-Link "DSL-2740B" and that didn't work either.
You have to use only TalkTalk firmwares or you risk to brick your device.

My ISP uses only "YourPhoneNumber" without "@YourIspDomain.YourCountryDomain" as the username, like:

Is there a way to write the username without "@YourIspDomain.YourCountryDomain"?

Sorry for the late reply. I have tried your suggestion but it doesn't work. I can't connect to my ISP is I write my username as:
Username: PhoneNumber@IspDomain.CountryDomain.
The only format accepted by my ISP is (Username = PhoneNumber) like:
UserName: 0123456789
I have bricked the modem while trying to install OpenWRT, but I recovered by re-installing the TalkTalk one.
As I said before I have also tried to install Conceptronic firmware, the DSL-2740B and DSL-2740R firmware. Is there any other firmware I can try? I don't mind damaging the modem since right now I can't use it anyways.
Or is there any other solution you can think of that forces TalkTalk firmware to access a UserName without @IspDomain.CountryName (force it to accept numbers only).

I'm sure you haven't heard of my ISP since it's local and outside the EU. It is called GAT.
So, is there a way to force this modem to accept a simple phone number without "@ISPDomainName.CountryDomain" as a username or not?
If these is no solution for my request I'll just through away this modem and carry on using the old one.

I own an old DSL-2780 which responds to the SSID as TALKTALK-7559F0. I guess it's a TALK TALK router (it was Infostrada) but I don't have any labels on the back.

I would like to use it as a WIFI extender but the router lose too mutch packets.
I searched for a new firmware on the web (I read that there is a v2.03t of the Firmware) but the links are now all expired.
Can someone share me a link with a more updated version of the firmware than the one I have (which is of 2010)

To use DSL-2780 TT as WiFi extender you can only link it via LAN cable to your main router. If you have packets loss maybe it's better to re-control LAN cable integrity and/or try to change LAN port.

I am using a power-line extender and connecting directly to it, there is no "loss". More exaclty is not really a packet loss. It happens that pinging contionuosly the default gateway sometimes the delay reach 1000 ms and the voice over IP become unintelligible
Typically up to 100ms latency is not generally going to cause a noticeable issue in VoIP quality. But getting over 100ms will most certainly be noticed.[* (https://community.spiceworks.com/topic/1538594-latency-for-voip-connection?page=1#entry-5678135)]
Most likely the cause of your issue is the so-called bufferbloat:

Bufferbloat is the undesirable latency that comes from a router or other network equipment buffering too much data.
Modern xDSL modems has got SQM (Smart Queue Management) option to avoid it. Or you can try setting your modem to bridge-mode adding it to a new router or to a router updated with an alternative open-source firmware such as OpenWrt & DD-WRT:
