Istruzioni per l'aggiornamento
• Reimpostare (reset) i parametri di configurazione preselezionati (default) nel firmware corrente del dispositivo tramite l'apposito tasto
• Disabilitare eventuali firewall/antivirus
• Collegare il dispositivo via cavo LAN Ethernet con connettore RJ45 alla scheda di rete del PC
• Assegnare manualmente un IP fisso (assolutamente NO DHCP!) nelle impostazioni della scheda di rete
• Si consiglia di utilizzare Internet Explorer
• Nella configurazione via browser MANTEINANCE>Firmware Update scegliere il firmware scompattato e avviare l'aggiornamento
• Quando l'aggiornamento è completato reimpostare (reset) i parametri di configurazione preselezionati (default) nel nuovo firmware del dispositivo tramite l'apposito tasto

Spostata la discussione. Il dispositivo è un DIR ma sul sito IT (e su quelli europei) si trova, oltre che nella sezione Router e Router portatili, pure in quella Banda larga mobile wireless anche se ha bisogno di essere collegato ad una chiavetta modem USB per la banda larga come la DWM-157.

Ciao a tutti

Ho acquistato il ruoter in oggetto, ma purtroppo non lo riesco a connetterlo con le chiavette vodafone in mio possesso, in particolare una ZTE K3806-Z (ufficialmente supportata) e una HUAWEI K4606H (ufficialmente non supportata). Ho eseguito la configurazione sia via wizard sia manualmente ma in entrambi i casi sembra che il router non le riconosca.
Qualcuno sa come farle funzionare o mi può aiutare?

L'errore è normale perchè non è connesso ad internet, metti la sim in un cellulare e prova a disattivare il pin.
La ZTE funziona con il pc? Quando la metti nel router di che colore è il led?

Grazie finalmente sono riuscito a far funzionare la chiavetta ZTE, per l'altra HUAWEI non c'è verso (d'altronde non è supportata) anche se mi piacerebbe che andasse perchè è più veloce della ZTE. Però ora mi succede una cosa strana: quando il router prepara il reboot dopo una configurazione, la finestra del "countdown" è scritta in cinese?!?!?!?!?!

Ora però non va più l'app qrs mobile per configurare il router da smartphone.
Dopo aver inserito la password di amministratore mi dice che il router o la versione firmware del dispositivo non è supportata.....

[Solution]: Update the correct status to device information page when APconnection or Repeater connection is established.
2. AP and Repeater setup Not working features: In AP and Repeater Mode the DIR-506L has Remote Management, NTP and DynDNS function. But they don’t work. 
[Solution]: Remove Remote Management/NTP/DynDNS functions in AP only and Repeater mode.
3. All Mode Unique SSID request.
[Solution]: For the new FW, the SSID will become DIR506L-WXYZ(??), while WXYZ is the last 4 characters of each LAN MAC. 
4. Repeater Mode SSID request: Follow DIR-505 design in the next release.
[Solution]: There are two modes to configure DIR-506L SSID: ""Same as WiFi Network Name"" or ""Create A New WiFi Network Name"". And if Repeater connection is connected, DIR-506L will bridge IP address to wireless clients, but if Repeater connection fails to be established , DIR-506L will enable DHCP function and then assign IP address 192.168.0.0/24 to wireless clients.
5. All Modes UI change: When the customer logs into the User Interface he lands on the “STATUS” screen the customer should land on the “SETUP” screen by default.
[Solution]: Land on the “SETUP” screen by default.
6. AP and Repeater mode Login method: Only allow Windows clients login DIR-506L via http://dlinkrouter .
[Solution]: Windows/MAC/iOS clients should access DIR-506L GUI via http://dlinkrouter and http://dlinkrouter.local 
7. Hotspot Mode The DIR-506L has IP 192.168.0.1 in Hotspot Mode will cause IP conflict with other Dlink AP routers.
[Solution]: If DIR-506L detects the AP IP address is 192.168.0.1, DIR-506L IP will change to 192.168.100.1 automatically.
8. WiFi-Hotspot/AP/Repeater mode Notify.
[Solution]: Ethernet Port LED will light when WiFi-Hotspot/AP/Repeater connection is established.

Sembra che questo sistema di recupero fosse presente su diversi vecchi modelli di altra marca basati sul Ralink RT3050F con un bootloader chiamato Jboot (Jon bootloader?) presente allo stesso IP.
Presente pure sul vecchio DI-524 con ben 11 revisioni hardware, due delle quali,la H1 e la I1, basate sempre su Ralink.

Disponibile ora sul nuovo DSL-2770L basato, quindi, su MediaTek (Ralink prima e TrendChip prima ancora).

Ed anche sul DIR-506L A1 (Ralink RT5350).
